New Year, Fresh Start

I'm back.  And for those who have loyally read this blog and relied on the information it provided, rest assured that 2009 will bring the same timely posts that I've brought in the past few years -- information about all new developments in the area of sentencing law in the Second Circuit and the district courts of the Second Circuit.  This past year has been exciting -- I've started my own law practice and seen it grow stronger than I could ever have imagined.  It's been a helluva ride, and I'm very much looking forward to continuing its development in 2009.

Bringing the blog up to date would be no easy task.  So, I've decided to start fresh in 2009.  All of the old post (numbering close to 300) will remain on the site.  But I couldn't possibly fill in the missing months.  For that, I refer you to the always excellent blogging of my colleagues Doug Berman at Sentencing Law & Policy and JaneAnne Murray at New York Federal Criminal Practice Blog.

As for me, check back often for developments in sentencing law in the Second Circuit.  You can also check out my firm's website, or read some of my publications from the past year:

Even Bernard Madoff Doesn't Deserve This (Washington Post) (also at Slate here)

The Misguided CEO Blame Game (Chicago Tribune)

Best regards (and Happy New Year),

Harlan
